The RISDiversity community narratives project celebrates the vibrant, diverse community formed by the students, faculty, alumni and staff at Rhode Island School of Design. Five years in the making, the project occupies a transmedia presence throughout physical and virtual spaces at RISD. The portrait/story exhibit is displayed throughout the 51-acre campus and the project website diversity.risd.edu features video profiles, portraits, stories, transcripts and project giving opportunities. To celebrate the completion of the first endeavor of this ongoing initiative, RISD Short Run Press published a 140-page folio of the project. The volume was designed by Rene Payne, RISD alumna and principal at Favor design. The book is available on campus and at Amazon. All proceeds support RISD student scholarships for tuition, supplies and social equity initiatives.
