The Kresge Atrium is the campus hub of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. For many years the walls of the atrium were adorned with formal painted portraits of University deans. A committee was formed to create a vision for updating and transforming the space. I joined with the offices of Diversity and Inclusion and Human Resources to develop a proposal to create a project with inclusive imagery reflecting the community at large. The Facing Forward project is the resulting initiative. The project highlights diverse students, faculty, alumni and staff at the School of Public Health; it includes 18 large-scale portraits and personal narratives. The visual identity and graphic design for the project were created in collaboration with the team at Morcos Key design studio.
