The RISD Womxn @ Work initiative honors seven exceptional womxn in the RISD community through an exhibition and panel discussion held during Women’s History Month. RISD W@W draws inspiration from RISD's rich history and amplifies womxn’s voices and experiences as creatives, professionals, and innovators. The project highlights the achievements, spirit, and resilience of womxn in the RISD community.
Note: The word womxn is used in intersectional feminism as an alternative spelling to avoid the idea of sexism perceived in the spelling sequences of wo(man) and wo(men) and to be inclusive of trans-women and nonbinary people. The pronouniation of womxn and women is identical.
